What you get
Everything a Tier 4 report needs, from the data you already keep
Most Tier 4 charities are run by volunteers. We do the fiddly part, so you can check the story your report tells, not the arithmetic.
A cash statement that adds up
Every bank transaction sorted into the official Tier 4 categories, GST handled, rounded to the dollar, and reconciled to your bank.
Last year's figures and the notes
Comparatives worked out from Xero, plus the accounting policies, GST, assets, liabilities and related party notes in the right wording.
Ready to file, your way
A print-ready PDF and the completed official Excel template, or a list of values to type into the online combined form.
Built to the Tier 4 (NFP) Standard from the XRB and the official Charities Services template, last checked October 2026.
How it works
Four steps from Xero to a finished report
You can stop at any point and come back. Your choices are saved, and next year starts from this year's answers.
Sign in with your Xero login
Choose the organisation you're reporting for. We ask for read-only access, and only to the data the report needs.
Check the cash statement
Each Xero account gets a suggested Tier 4 category, with a plain-English explanation. A month-by-month check against your bank shows straight away if anything is missing.
Add the other information
Your main activities this year, any significant assets or liabilities, related parties and who approved the report. It saves as you go.
Preview free, then download
Read the whole report before you pay. Then download the PDF and the official Excel template, or the values for the online form.

Who's behind Charifolio
Tinloy Wen, New Zealand
I've been the treasurer of a charity, so I know how long the annual Tier 4 performance report can take. I built Charifolio so treasurers using Xero can produce it from the figures they already have.
Questions before you start? Get in touch and we'll reply within two working days.
Who can use this?
Registered charities in New Zealand that report under Tier 4 (generally those with annual operating payments under $140,000) and keep their books in Xero.
What Xero access do I need?
A Xero login for the organisation that's allowed to connect apps. We only ask for read-only access, and you choose which organisation to connect. If you're not sure, ask whoever manages your Xero subscription.
Does it lodge the report with Charities Services?
No. You download the completed template and PDF, have it approved, and upload it with your annual return as usual. If you use the online combined Annual Return and Performance Report form instead, you also get a list of every value to enter, in the same order as the form.
What if the numbers don't reconcile?
The monthly check shows which month the difference is in. Common causes, like old expense claims or an opening balance entered when you started using Xero, can be handled in a couple of clicks.
We're GST registered. Is that supported?
Yes. Amounts are shown GST-inclusive, with GST paid to or refunded by IRD on its own line, and the standard GST note is included.
Is our data safe?
We only ask Xero for read-only access. Access tokens are encrypted, reports are generated when you download them and not stored, and Xero is disconnected after you download your final report or after 3 days without use. Your data is never sold, used for advertising or used to train AI models. See our privacy policy.
Do I still need an accountant?
Many Tier 4 charities prepare their own report. The tool doesn't give accounting advice, so if you're unsure how to treat something, check with an accountant.
What if something goes wrong, or I want a refund?
Contact us and we'll reply within two working days. If a fault in the service means you can't get a report that reconciles, ask within 30 days of paying and we'll fix it or refund you.
Is this made by Xero or Charities Services?
No. It's an independent New Zealand service and isn't affiliated with Xero, the XRB or Charities Services.
